The city of Mokpo announced that it has opened and begun full-scale operation of the Southwest Integrated Tourism Platform, which provides major tourism information for nine cities and counties in the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do in one location.

The Southwest Integrated Tourism Platform is located across from the Shangria Beach Tourism Hotel in Mokpo Peace Square. It serves as a comprehensive space offering tourism information for nine cities and counties in the southwestern part of Jeollanam-do: Mokpo, Haenam, Yeongam, Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Wando, Jindo, and Shinan.

This platform was established as part of a project launched after Mokpo was selected for the 2020 Tourism Hub City Development Program. A total of 2 billion won was invested, including 1 billion won from the national government, 400 million won from the provincial government, and 600 million won from the city. Starting with the detailed design in 2023, the project went through construction technology reviews, contract assessments, and implementation plan approvals in 2024. Construction took place from January to October 2025, culminating in the platform's completion and opening.

Inside the platform, there are displays featuring tourist attractions, tourism products, and promotional content for the Hometown Love Donation Program from Mokpo and the other eight cities and counties in southwestern Jeollanam-do. An unmanned tourism information kiosk has been installed to provide information on major tourist destinations and transportation, enhancing convenience for visitors.

A city official stated, "Through the Southwest Integrated Tourism Platform, tourism links with neighboring cities and counties will be further strengthened," adding, "We expect it will also significantly contribute to increasing the number of tourists visiting the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do and revitalizing stay-type tourism."
