The launch ceremony, held on December 30, marked the official start of the reporters who will cover and communicate city affairs from the citizens' perspective. Around 60 people attended, including 30 blog reporters, 20 social media reporters, and related officials. The event included the presentation of awards to outstanding reporters of 2025, the appointment of the 2026 reporters, a commemorative photo session, guidance on reporter activities, and training.

The 2026 Blog and Social Media Reporters will visit city sites in person to cover stories and will focus on producing and disseminating content about policies, events, and daily life information in ways that are easy for citizens to understand.

In addition, by sharing their experiences and citizens' responses from the field, they plan to strengthen communication so that the voices of citizens are more effectively conveyed to city administration.

Public Relations Officer Lee Dongho stated, "Recently, city promotion has become more about communicating and empathizing with citizens, rather than just one-way announcements," and added, "Please naturally capture the atmosphere of the field, changes in daily life, and the voices that citizens actually feel from the 'citizens' perspective,' which cannot be fully conveyed through official city promotion alone."

Meanwhile, even after the launch ceremony, the city plans to systematically provide operational plans and activity guidelines for the reporters, and to strengthen training and support to enhance their reporting and production capabilities, thereby continuing to expand citizen-oriented content and communication regarding city affairs.
