According to the county on December 31, with this expansion, a 10% upfront discount will be applied when purchasing the Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate. In addition, if payment is made using the Gochang Sarang Card, an extra 2% will be credited, allowing residents to enjoy a maximum discount of 12% throughout the year.

Furthermore, during major holidays such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok, a special discount of up to 20% will be offered separately to maximize the effect of boosting consumption and to further stimulate local spending.

Until now, cashback discounts were concentrated during specific periods such as holidays, but starting in the new year, these benefits will be available year-round, allowing residents to experience savings in their everyday spending.

Especially as rising prices and sluggish consumption persist, the expansion of regular discounts is expected to enhance residents’ real purchasing power while stably encouraging local spending, particularly in neighborhood businesses.

The Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate can be purchased and used in both paper and card formats. Discount limits and detailed operational guidelines can be checked through the dedicated app, 'Gohyang Sarang Pay.'

This year, a total of 88 billion won worth of Gochang Sarang Gift Certificates have been issued, with steady usage by residents and small business owners. This demonstrates that the Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate has become a core policy tool supporting the local economy, going beyond a short-term measure to boost consumption.

The county expects that this expansion of regular discounts will further increase the issuance and circulation of the gift certificates.

County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "From the new year, we have strengthened resident benefits by expanding the regular discount rate for the Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate to 12%. We will continue to pursue policies that revitalize the local economy in ways that residents can truly feel."
