Daegu Regional Veterans Office Holds Completion Ceremony for Housing Improvement Support Project for National Merit Recipients

The Daegu Regional Veterans Office (headed by Kim Jongsul) recently held the completion ceremony for the "2025 Housing Improvement Support Project for National Merit Recipients," sponsored by the Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant (headed by Kim Yongjin).

Since 2017, the Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant has continuously supported the renovation of aging homes for national merit recipients and their families, carrying out these projects in both the first and second halves of each year.

In the second half of this year, two households were selected for customized housing improvements tailored to each family's needs, including replacing kitchen sinks, windows, and entrance doors, as well as repairing roofs. The Gumi General Social Welfare Center also participated in the process, joining efforts to support national merit recipients.

Mr. Jeong (82), a Vietnam War veteran and beneficiary of this project, and Mr. Kwon (72), a disabled veteran, expressed their gratitude, saying, "By repairing our old homes before the cold season, we can now live in safety and comfort. The thorough renovation of our aged houses has greatly improved our living environment."

A representative from the Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant stated, "We once again express our deep gratitude for the dedication and contributions of national merit recipients and their families. We will continue to provide ongoing support to make a real difference in improving their living conditions."

Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Veterans Office, said, "We are deeply grateful to the Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant for its active sponsorship of welfare projects such as housing improvements for national merit recipients. We will further strengthen cooperation with local businesses and related organizations to carry out veterans' administration that honors the sacrifices and dedication made for our country."
