Establishing the Optimal Route Plan
Prioritizing Safety, Accessibility, and Convenience

On December 31, Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power announced that they held a residents' briefing session on the draft route plan for the relocation road of National Road No. 24, which is being promoted as part of the Dumusan pumped-storage power plant construction project. The event took place at the Myosan-myeon Multipurpose Cultural Center and was attended by residents of Myosan-myeon and Bongsan-myeon.

The briefing session was organized as a forum to communicate with local residents, providing an explanation of the National Road No. 24 relocation road construction project and a Q&A session to gather their opinions.

The draft route plan for the relocation road of National Road No. 24 is a project to replace the existing national road that will be submerged due to the creation of the lower reservoir for the Dumusan pumped-storage power plant. The new road will cover a total distance of 2.72 kilometers, stretching from Banpo-ri in Myosan-myeon to Gwonbin-ri in Bongsan-myeon. Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and the Busan Regional Construction and Management Administration, which is the managing authority, have developed the route plan with the highest priority placed on residents' safety, accessibility, and convenience.

Following the collection of residents' opinions, the detailed design is scheduled to be completed by October 2026. After compensation negotiations and administrative procedures for permits and approvals, construction is set to begin in January 2027, with completion targeted for September 2029.

An official from the county stated, "We sincerely thank all the residents who attended despite their busy schedules. For the exemplary execution of the Dumusan pumped-storage power plant construction project, the residents, the power company, and the administration will continue to cooperate closely and move forward together."

The Dumusan pumped-storage power plant, which is planned for the Myosan-myeon area of Hapcheon County, is a large-scale national project with a capacity of 900MW. It is expected to create new jobs, contribute to the development of the local economy, and bring benefits to residents' welfare and living environment. Currently, administrative procedures for the full-scale construction project are progressing smoothly.
