"I Will Strive to Reach My 30th Grand Prize"
Broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk has won his 21st Grand Prize trophy in total.
On December 29, Yoo Jae-suk received both the Grand Prize and the Entertainer of the Year Award at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards. With this win, he has now claimed the Grand Prize a total of nine times at MBC alone. This surpasses his previous record of eight Grand Prizes at the SBS Entertainment Awards.
In his acceptance speech, Yoo Jae-suk said, "Since receiving my first Grand Prize in 2005, I have now received my 21st Grand Prize in 2025," adding, "I can't guarantee the future, but I will try my best until I reach 30 Grand Prizes."
Over the past 25 years, Yoo Jae-suk has appeared on major MBC variety shows such as "Achieve the Goal! Saturday - Star Survival Together," "Exclamation Mark - Let's Read Books," "Empathy Talk Show Come to Play," "Infinite Challenge," and "Hangout with Yoo?"
At the awards ceremony, five people, including Yoo Jae-suk, Jun Hyun-moo, Kian84, Kim Yeon-koung, and Jang Do-yeon, received the Entertainer of the Year Award, which is considered a Grand Prize nomination.
"Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung" won a total of six awards, including the Variety Program of the Year Award, while the late comedian Jeon Yu-seong, who passed away in September, was posthumously awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the development of Korean entertainment.
