Third Overseas Trip as Defense Industry Envoy
Supporting the Export Contract for "Chunmoo" Multiple Rocket Launcher

Chief Presidential Secretary Kang Hoon-sik visited Poland on the previous day (28th) as a special presidential envoy for strategic economic cooperation, according to the Office of the President. It appears that this is his third overseas trip as a special envoy, following Europe and the Middle East, aimed at supporting the third export contract for the multiple rocket launcher "Chunmoo."

The Presidential Spokesperson's Office announced on the 29th, "Chief Secretary Kang visited Poland for a one-night, three-day schedule to attend the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MOU). He is scheduled to return to Korea on the afternoon of the 30th, and specific achievements will be announced later."

Previously, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, stated on X (formerly Twitter) on the 27th, "A cooperation agreement between Hanwha Aerospace and WB Electronics is scheduled to be signed in Warsaw on the afternoon of the 29th," and announced the start of construction for a factory in Poland to produce missiles for the "Homar-K" system. "Homar-K" is the Polish export model of Chunmoo. Poland previously introduced several hundred Chunmoo launcher systems in two separate deals in 2022 and 2024.

This marks the third time Chief Secretary Kang has gone on an overseas trip as a special envoy. He previously visited Poland, Romania, and Norway in October, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia as a special envoy in November.
