Jongryong Lim, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, stated on December 29, "Based on the enhanced portfolio achieved through our entry into the securities and insurance businesses last year and this year, I will develop Woori Financial Group into a comprehensive financial group capable of generating strong synergies."
Chairman Lim made this announcement in a statement distributed to the media on the afternoon of the 29th, immediately after the Woori Financial Group Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee (Nomination Committee) recommended him as the final candidate for the next chairman.
He emphasized, "I will implement the 'Woori Financial Future Co-Growth Project' for productive and inclusive finance, which is currently underway, without any setbacks and with even greater speed."
He continued, "To firmly establish a management system centered on artificial intelligence (AI), we will accelerate our transition to AI by establishing AX (AI Transformation) governance and integrating AI into our field operations."
He added, "I will devote even more effort to enhancing shareholder value," and continued, "We will pursue continuous innovation to strengthen consumer protection and internal controls, which are the benchmarks of trust in the financial industry." He further stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility and will strive to refine the strategies and plans announced by the Nomination Committee and to develop more concrete implementation measures."
