Administrative Achievements Recognized in Government and Public Institution Evaluations
Gwangju Buk-gu achieved significant results this year in various external evaluations and public contests conducted by government ministries and public institutions. The total project funding secured through these evaluations and selections amounts to 7.9 billion won.
According to Buk-gu on December 29, Buk-gu received awards or was selected a total of 70 times in external evaluations and public contests organized by central government ministries and public institutions throughout 2025. The project funding obtained through these achievements is approximately 7.9 billion won.
In the area of external evaluations, Buk-gu was the only local government in the country to receive the Presidential Award at the 10th Financial Day Government Awards, organized by the Financial Services Commission. In the 'Local Administration Innovation Awards' hosted by the Korean Association for Local Government Studies, Buk-gu was selected as the top local government among all districts nationwide.
In the National Local Government Job Awards conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Buk-gu was the only district to be recognized as an excellent local government for 13 consecutive years. In the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's evaluation of prompt execution of local finances, Buk-gu was named the top institution for 14 consecutive years.
Additionally, Buk-gu was recognized across various administrative areas: it was rated the best in the Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation for five consecutive years; rated excellent in the Public Resource Opening and Sharing Service Performance Evaluation for five consecutive years; rated excellent in the Local Government Innovation Evaluation for seven consecutive years; rated excellent in the Public Data Provision Evaluation for three consecutive years; and rated excellent in the Proactive Administration Comprehensive Evaluation for three consecutive years. In total, external evaluations covered 36 categories.
In the field of public contest projects, Buk-gu was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Public Building Green Remodeling Project, securing approximately 2.3 billion won. Through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project, Buk-gu also secured about 1.6 billion won in project funding.
In addition, Buk-gu was selected for a total of 34 public contest projects, including 1.25 billion won for the Smart Village Distribution and Expansion Project, 880 million won for the Youth Growth Project, 700 million won for the Resident Support Project in Development-Restricted Areas, and 590 million won for the Social Economy Enterprise Development Support Project.
