This Year's Tenbagger Award: Wonik Holdings Surges 1,234%
Samsung Electronics Wins Both Most Popular and National Stock Awards
The domestic stock that rose the most this year was Wonik Holdings, with an increase of 1,234%. Samsung Electronics was identified as the most actively traded stock by individual investors and also the stock currently held by the largest number of individual investors.
Shinhan Investment & Securities announced on December 29 that, with the KOSPI entering the 4,000-point era, it selected the most popular stocks, unique trading patterns, and impressive customers for the year (from January to December 15) through its "Adieu 2025! Special Awards in Data." The KOSPI has surged by more than 70% this year, while the KOSDAQ has also jumped by over 36%.
The "Tenbagger Award" for the domestic stock with the highest increase this year went to Wonik Holdings, which soared by 1,234%. This was followed by Robotics (1,081%) and Cheonil Express (1,064%). On the other hand, despite the rise in the index, seven stocks, including Taeyang Metal and LG HelloVision, recorded 0% price fluctuation and were given the "Consistency Award."
The "Most Popular Award" for the stock most actively traded by individual investors went to Samsung Electronics, followed by SK Hynix and Doosan Enerbility. Samsung Electronics also received the "National Stock Award" for being the stock currently held by the largest number of individual investors. LG Energy Solution ranked second, and Kakao ranked third.
The "Can't Resist Award" for the U.S. stock traded by the most individual investors this year went to Tesla, followed by Nvidia and Palantir. The day with the highest number of customer trades in U.S. stocks, the "U.S. Market Today Award," was confirmed to be Friday, October 10. On this day, the New York Stock Exchange started with an upward trend but reversed course during the session and closed lower.
Among customers using the Shinhan SOL Securities MTS in 2025, the proportion of those who traded every business day this year, qualifying for the "Traded Every Day Award," was 0.1%. The proportion of customers who logged into the Shinhan SOL Securities MTS every day, earning the "Top Customer Award," was about 0.1%. Meanwhile, 2.6% of customers, who only logged in at night and not during the day, received the "Night Owl Award."
Shinhan Investment & Securities stated, "Through these awards, we have reviewed the special data of customers who used Shinhan SOL Securities this year, and we will continue to provide a variety of financial services for customer convenience next year."
