Forms Insulating Layer to Delay Heat Transfer to Steel Structures
Noru Paint announced on December 29 that it has launched a new product, 'Fireblocking 216', designed to ensure fire resistance performance for steel columns in buildings.
This new product is a high-performance solution engineered to protect steel structures in the event of a fire. When the coating film is exposed to flames, it rapidly foams and expands, forming a thick insulating layer that delays heat transfer to the steel structure. By slowing down the rapid collapse caused by the loss of structural strength in steel frames during a fire, it helps secure evacuation and response time, thereby reducing casualties and property damage.
Fireblocking 216 is designed to achieve two-hour fire resistance performance for steel columns in buildings and has completed performance verification under the domestic fire-resistant structure certification system. In addition, it received a 'compliant' rating for gas toxicity according to the KS F 2271 (Test Method for Gas Toxicity of Finishing Materials for Buildings) standard. As a single-component product, it minimizes the mixing process to improve on-site workability, and its matte finish meets architectural finishing requirements.
