Hapcheon County Selected as Outstanding Institution for Leading Local Price Stability

Outstanding for Four Consecutive Years Since 2022
Receives 20 Million Won Incentive Support

Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province has been selected as an outstanding institution in the "2025 Local Price Stability Management Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which assessed 243 local governments nationwide.

This evaluation comprehensively assesses the price management capabilities and achievements of local governments across three categories: ▲safe management of local public utility charges, ▲promotion of Good Price Stores, and ▲efforts to stabilize local prices. Hapcheon County was awarded the "B" grade, which is given to outstanding local governments that systematically implement price stabilization policies and achieve tangible results, and will receive a special grant of 20 million won as an incentive.

In particular, Hapcheon County has maintained the "B" grade for four consecutive years since the evaluation was introduced in 2022, demonstrating its stable management of local prices.

The county has worked to alleviate residents' financial burdens and support small business management by freezing sewer and waste bag fees, designating and operating 47 Good Price Stores, and running a Price Countermeasures Committee to promote price stability.

In 2025, the county implemented support measures for Good Price Stores, including ▲consulting on hygiene, ▲environmental improvement projects, ▲public utility charge refunds, and ▲reduction of water supply fees. It also carried out field-oriented price management activities such as ▲campaigns to encourage the use of traditional markets, ▲organizing joint inspection teams, monitoring compliance with price labeling regulations and cracking down on price gouging, and ▲operating local price monitoring personnel to conduct local price surveys.

Han Hosang, Director of the Employment and Economy Department, stated, "Managing local prices is a crucial task directly linked to residents' daily lives," adding, "We will continue to implement price stabilization measures tailored to our county's circumstances so that local residents and businesses can prosper together."
