According to the county on the 26th, the briefing session was organized to enhance understanding of next year's Village Community Creation Contest Project and to encourage resident-led community participation. More than 40 people, including village activists and representatives of resident groups, attended the event.
The session covered the following topics: the direction of the 2026 Village Community Creation Contest Project, details of each project type, eligible applicants and selection criteria, as well as application procedures and important notes. During the subsequent Q&A session, participants were able to address their questions regarding the application process and preparation steps.
This year, 32 village communities are participating in the project, and the county plans to select around 32 communities again next year. However, the number of selections may change depending on project conditions.
Villages selected for the project will receive various forms of support, including project funding for community activities, education, and consulting services.
Park Yonghee, Head of the Regional Economy Division, stated, "The village community project is a process in which residents identify and solve their own village issues," adding, "The county will do its utmost to foster healthy, resident-led communities through ongoing education and support."
Meanwhile, applications for the Village Community Creation Contest Project are open until January 7 next year. For more details, please contact the Hwasun County Village Community Innovation Center.
