Gyeonggi Province to Supply 3,000 Units through Existing Housing Jeonse Rental Program

Gyeonggi Province is recruiting tenants for the 'Existing Housing Jeonse Rental' program to promote housing stability and reduce housing costs for low-income households.

The Existing Housing Jeonse Rental program is a type of public rental housing in which eligible applicants find an existing house-such as a single-family, multi-family, or multiplex unit-of 85 square meters or less, and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) leases the property directly and then subleases it to the applicant.

GH will supply 3,000 units across all 31 cities and counties in the province.

Eligible applicants include members of homeless households in the province who are recipients of basic livelihood or medical assistance, single-parent families under protection, households in urgent need of housing support, low-income individuals with disabilities, and seniors aged 65 or older (who are either recipients of assistance or belong to the low-income bracket).

Applications can be submitted from January 12 to January 23 next year by visiting the local administrative welfare center in the applicant's area of residence. The final list of selected tenants will be announced in April next year.

Kim Tae-su, Director of Housing Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The Existing Housing Jeonse Rental support program helps vulnerable groups ease their housing cost burden and live stably for the long term in familiar neighborhoods," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to expand the supply of public rental housing to further enhance housing stability for ordinary citizens."
