Jeonggwan-eup in Gijang-gun Completes 10th Anniversary Promotional Video and Booklet Production

Showcasing Regional Value and Charm Through the Resident Participatory Budget

The Jeonggwan-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun (headed by Song Youngjong) announced on the 24th that, together with the Jeonggwan-eup Residents’ Autonomy Committee (chaired by Song Gyo-ok), it has completed the production of the “Jeonggwan-eup Promotional Video” and the “Jeonggwanji Booklet (Aljae Jeonggwan).”

This project was carried out as part of the 2025 Resident Participatory Budget initiative to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Jeonggwan-eup’s elevation. It was designed to document the growth and transformation of Jeonggwan-eup over the past decade and to widely promote the area’s hidden attractions and cultural assets.

The “Jeonggwan-eup Promotional Video” vividly captures the beautiful natural scenery and major facilities of the Jeonggwan area through drone footage, including Jwagwangcheon, the first local garden established by a basic municipality in Busan, as well as Sohakdae-one of Gijang’s eight scenic spots-Byeongsan Reservoir, and Sodubang Park. In particular, the video sensibly highlights Jeonggwan’s unique appeal, where the image of a young and vibrant new city harmonizes with tradition, and it is expected to serve as a key piece of content for future regional promotion. The video was first released at the “10th Anniversary of Jeonggwan-eup’s Elevation” ceremony held at Jeonggwan Central Park on October 17, drawing significant interest from residents.

The accompanying “Jeonggwanji Booklet” was created by condensing the extensive content of the original “Jeonggwanji” published in 2015 into essential information, making it easy for anyone to read. Named “Aljae Jeonggwan,” meaning “The More You Know, the More Interesting and Useful Jeonggwan Stories Become,” this booklet is packed with diverse information such as ▲ the history of Jeonggwan ▲ Jeonggwan’s attractions ▲ Jeonggwan’s records, literature, and oral tales ▲ Jeonggwan in photos, and more. The booklet is available for viewing at the Jeonggwan-eup Administrative Welfare Center and will also be distributed to major public facilities, including schools, in the future.

Song Gyo-ok, Chairperson of the Jeonggwan-eup Residents’ Autonomy Committee, said, “I hope this promotional material, produced through the resident participatory budget project, will serve as an opportunity to rediscover the value of Jeonggwan-eup,” adding, “We will continue to work together with residents to make Jeonggwan a great place to live and a destination everyone wants to visit.”
