The Christmas Seal, published annually by the Korean National Tuberculosis Association (Chairman Shin Minseok, hereafter referred to as the Association), is a flagship public fundraising campaign based on the principle of voluntary donations. To ensure the soundness and transparency of fundraising, the Association operates a variety of participation channels both online and offline, striving to create a "convenient and enjoyable fundraising" environment.
The Christmas Seal fundraising is conducted in accordance with Article 25 of the Tuberculosis Prevention Act, and tax benefits are provided under the Income Tax Act and the Corporate Tax Act. Individual donors can receive donation receipts for year-end tax settlement and apply for tax deductions. The tuberculosis eradication fund raised through this campaign is managed transparently under the supervision of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and details of its usage are released through the Korean National Tuberculosis Association website.
Recently, in an effort to expand donor participation, the Association has included a variety of merchandise along with the Christmas Seal. This year, the Association introduced "LUCKY CHRISTMAS with Bread Barbershop Season 2," which features practical items such as keyrings, magnets, pouches, and eco-bags. These goods are designed to go beyond simple souvenirs, enabling people to naturally share the meaning of tuberculosis eradication in their daily lives.
Participation in the Christmas Seal campaign is available through the online donation store, as well as at post offices, GS25 convenience stores, and through group purchases by schools and companies. In the case of schools, participation in the 2025 Christmas Seal fundraising can be arranged in advance, and the Association confirms the demand for each school before sending the corresponding quantity.
The tuberculosis eradication fund raised through the proceeds of the Christmas Seal will be used for a variety of projects aimed at eradicating tuberculosis, including the identification and support of tuberculosis patients among vulnerable groups, support for patient accommodation facilities, support for student tuberculosis patients, tuberculosis prevention campaigns, tuberculosis bacteria testing and research, and support for tuberculosis projects in underdeveloped countries.
