Ildong Bioscience Wins 'K-Food Plus Export Tower' Award Hosted by Ministry of Agriculture and aT

Ildong Bioscience, a health functional food subsidiary of Ildong Pharmaceutical Group, announced on the 24th that it has been selected as a recipient of the 'K-Food Plus (K-Food+)' Export Tower Award, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT).


The 'K-Food Plus Export Tower Award' is a recognition program that honors companies contributing to market revitalization and export growth across the agri-food sector and related industries. This year's award ceremony was held on the 23rd at the aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Ildong Bioscience was recognized for its achievements in pioneering global markets and expanding exports in the healthcare ingredients and products sector, achieving annual export sales of 7 million dollars from the fourth quarter of last year to the third quarter of this year.


Based on its proprietary technology, Ildong Bioscience has developed and introduced a variety of probiotics and postbiotics related to gut health, skin immunity, cholesterol improvement, and body fat reduction.


The company is currently receiving positive responses not only in Asian markets, including Thailand and Malaysia, but also in North America, such as the United States and Canada. Recently, it has also expanded its export reach to European countries like Spain and Greece, achieving notable results.


Additionally, Ildong Bioscience has met global market standards by obtaining certifications such as the United States 'GRAS' certification, Health Canada's 'NHP' registration, and Halal and Kosher certifications. The company is actively engaged in contract development and manufacturing (CDMO), original design manufacturing (ODM), and raw material supply businesses, leveraging Korea's top-tier probiotics manufacturing infrastructure.


A representative from Ildong Bioscience stated, "Building on our R&D competitiveness in the probiotics field, including a database of over 5,000 strains and core technologies, we will continue to develop a wide range of functional ingredients and products. At the same time, we plan to actively expand our global presence by identifying new business partners and implementing localization strategies for each market."
