Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province will operate the "2026 Joint Design Team for Resident Participatory Budget Projects" until January 23, 2026, in order to expedite the commissioning of construction projects and reduce design service costs.
The joint design team, consisting of 23 technical officials, plans to independently carry out the design process, including on-site investigations, surveying, and the preparation of drawings and specifications. The team will handle 149 resident participatory budget projects, with a total project cost amounting to 5.6 billion won.
The city expects that operating the joint design team will save approximately 406 million won in design service fees, minimize inconvenience to residents by enabling early commissioning of construction, and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Additionally, the city anticipates that the operation of the joint design team will strengthen collaboration and communication among staff members, while also having a positive effect on enhancing practical, work-based design capabilities.
A Pocheon City official stated, "We will do our utmost to promptly implement resident participatory budget projects through the operation of the joint design team, so that residents' inconveniences can be resolved as early as possible."
