NextTrade Selects 700 Stocks for Trading in Q1 Next Year

NextTrade, the only alternative trading system (ATS) in Korea, has selected 700 stocks (375 KOSPI stocks and 325 KOSDAQ stocks) eligible for trading in the first quarter of 2026.

On the 24th, NextTrade announced that, in addition to the 350 stocks that make up the indices (KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150), it has also selected the top 175 stocks by market capitalization from both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ among non-index stocks. However, to facilitate smooth trading limit management, stocks with low share prices or those with high volatility in trading volume have been excluded, taking into account the distribution of share prices among listed stocks.

As a result of this selection, 120 new stocks, including Samsung Epis Holdings and Aimed Bio, have been newly included. On the other hand, 152 stocks, such as SK Networks and Partron, have been excluded.

Among the stocks excluded in the previous quarter for trading volume limit management, 103 stocks, including Korea Electric Power Corporation and Ecopro, have been reselected.

Additionally, 477 stocks, such as Samsung Electronics and Alteogen, will continue to be included as eligible trading stocks in the first quarter of next year, as they were in the previous quarter.

Previously, NextTrade had a policy of selecting eligible trading stocks every quarter. However, in order to comply with trading volume regulations, since the third quarter, the company has reduced the number of eligible stocks without changing the selection itself.

NextTrade stated, "As a result, we expect to comply with the limit regulations as of the end of December," and added, "We will continue to proactively comply with limit regulations by monitoring daily and periodic trading volume ratios, and maintain the number of eligible trading stocks within 700 to meet investment demand."
