First Gaming Monitor to Feature 6K Ultra-High Resolution
Samsung Electronics is introducing a new lineup of Odyssey gaming monitors, the first in the gaming monitor industry to support 6K ultra-high resolution. The company is unveiling five models designed to maximize visual expression and immersion.
Samsung Electronics will host 'The First Look' event on January 4 (local time) ahead of CES 2026, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, where it will unveil five new gaming monitor models. The new lineup includes: ▲ the world's first 32-inch glasses-free 3D monitor supporting 6K ultra-high resolution, 'Odyssey 3D (G90XH)'; ▲ the first 32-inch gaming monitor to support 6K ultra-high resolution, 'Odyssey G8 (G80HS)'; ▲ the 27-inch 'Odyssey G8 (G80HF)' supporting 5K ultra-high resolution and up to 180Hz refresh rate; ▲ the 32-inch 'Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)' featuring a Quantum Dot OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and 300-nit brightness; and ▲ the world's first 27-inch 'Odyssey G6 (G60H)' that achieves up to 1040Hz refresh rate based on dual-mode technology.
The three models-'Odyssey 3D G9', 'Odyssey G8', and 'Odyssey G8'-feature 6K and 5K ultra-high resolutions, significantly enhancing graphic expression and visual immersion. In particular, the 'Odyssey 3D G9' is the world's first model to combine a glasses-free 3D system with 6K resolution. Compared to previous models, it offers a 32-inch display that is approximately 40% larger, a 3D settings function that optimizes stereoscopic effects for each game, a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, and a high refresh rate dual-mode feature.
The 'Odyssey OLED G8' is a 32-inch model equipped with a QD OLED panel, supporting 4K resolution and up to 240Hz refresh rate, with technologies like glare-free display tailored for gaming. Notably, the G80SH model features DisplayPort 2.1 with ultra-high bit rate (UHBR 20) supporting up to 80Gbps bandwidth, enabling the latest video technologies such as High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) without data loss or distortion.

Samsung Electronics is also introducing ultra-high refresh rate models, aiming to lead the industry with the best gaming monitor technology for fast-paced esports and high-performance gaming environments. The 'Odyssey G6' is a 27-inch model that supports Quad HD (QHD) resolution and a 600Hz refresh rate. When switched to dual mode, it exceeds a maximum refresh rate of 1000Hz.
