At a Cabinet meeting held at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' temporary office in Busan on this day, President Lee stated, "When it comes to public safety, doing too much is hundreds of times better than doing too little."

President Lee also pointed out, "There is often complacency regarding safety measures for annual recurring events," and emphasized, "Relevant ministries and local governments must conduct double and triple checks on safety measures for events that attract large crowds." He also called for the deployment of as many safety personnel as possible and urged responsible organization heads and event organizers to pay extra attention.

President Lee went on to request a discussion on ways to faithfully reflect "Korea's development" in the background images used during the national anthem. He said, "Yesterday, I met with the leadership of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, and one member mentioned that the background image for the national anthem is outdated and requested it be changed to something more fitting for the country's recent development and enhanced international stature," adding, "Please discuss ways to maximize the public's sense of pride."

Additionally, President Lee referred to a recent survey on the values of Koreans, noting, "When asked about their vision for Korea's future, many cited a politically mature democracy." He continued, "Until now, economic affluence had always ranked first, but that has changed." He stressed, "In state affairs, we must give deeper consideration to these democratic values," and added, "Since December 3 of last year, we have reached a point where we can move forward toward the future with hope."
