Accelerating the Training of Local Care Personnel
Dong-Eui Science University is taking active steps to train specialized care personnel in response to the aging society.
The Caregiver Training Center, affiliated with Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) and directed by Yoon Jaehyun, announced on December 23 that it was newly designated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in November as a vocational competency development training institution for the "Caregiver Certification Course." The center will officially operate this program from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
This training program was established to meet the growing demand for care personnel in the local community and the Busan region. The center has designed a total of four courses tailored to the characteristics and experience of learners, thereby strengthening demand-oriented education.
The courses include: ▲ a program for new entrants; ▲ a program for nurses holding national licenses; ▲ a program for social workers with national licenses; and ▲ a program for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing assistants with national licenses. The center plans to provide a customized educational environment so that not only professionals in the health and welfare sectors but also the general public aspiring to enter the caregiving field can systematically prepare for certification.
The Dong-Eui Science University Caregiver Training Center focuses on enhancing practical skills that can be immediately applied in care and nursing settings through a systematic theoretical curriculum and field-oriented practical training. With the recent selection as an official vocational training institution, the quality and professionalism of the education have been formally recognized, enabling learners to pursue professional certification at a more reasonable cost.
Yoon Jaehyun, Director of the Caregiver Training Center, stated, "We will do our utmost to cultivate personnel equipped with expertise and practical skills to meet the continuously increasing demand for caregivers in the community and to contribute to the provision of stable care services."
