AirDataLab, an ESG solution company specializing in environmental and air quality data (CEO Lee Donghyuk), announced on the 23rd that it has been finally selected for the second round of the general track of TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup), a technology startup investment program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, for December.
Through this selection, AirDataLab will receive a total of 500 million won in research and development (R&D) funding, which will be used to launch full-scale technological development for building an "AIoT Integrated Kitchen Environment Management Platform."
This project focuses on the precise management of cooking fumes and air pollution in large kitchen environments such as elementary schools, public institutions, and restaurant kitchens using data and AI.
The platform developed by AirDataLab will use multiple sensors to measure, in real time, cooking fumes, fine dust, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted during the cooking process.
The collected pollution data will be analyzed by AI to diagnose risk levels and pollution patterns. Administrators can use a dashboard to monitor the kitchen environment at a glance and proactively identify and address areas that require cleaning or inspection.
In particular, this solution provides an efficient kitchen management system by enabling systematic management of cooking fumes in group catering facilities-a recent social issue-and addressing kitchen pollution, often overlooked in terms of hygiene. It also offers features optimized for ESG management, such as reducing carbon emissions through cooking fume reduction devices.
Lee Donghyuk, CEO of AirDataLab, stated, "With this TIPS selection, we aim to establish a global standard for managing kitchen cooking environments using quantitative data and AI," adding, "We will become a key partner in ESG management by protecting the health rights of kitchen workers and creating a clean kitchen environment where children and citizens can feel safe."
