[Weather] Rain Across Most Regions from Afternoon... Up to 5cm of Snow in Gangwon Mountains

On Tuesday, the 23rd, rain is expected to begin in Incheon and the northwestern part of Gyeonggi Province in the morning, and will spread to most regions nationwide from the afternoon. Rain or snow is forecast for northern Gyeonggi and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the expected precipitation is 5 to 20 millimeters for Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju; 5 to 10 millimeters for inland and mountainous Gangwon and Chungbuk; and less than 5 millimeters for the east coast of Gangwon. The expected snowfall is around 1 centimeter for northeastern Gyeonggi and central and northern inland Gangwon, and 1 to 5 centimeters for central and northern mountainous Gangwon.


As of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major regions are as follows: Seoul 0.8°C, Incheon 0.8°C, Suwon 0.0°C, Chuncheon -5.5°C, Gangneung 1.5°C, Cheongju -0.9°C, Daejeon -2.9°C, Jeonju 0.4°C, Gwangju 1.8°C, Jeju 10.9°C, Daegu -2.4°C, Busan 5.2°C, Ulsan 1.9°C, and Changwon 2.5°C. The daytime high is forecast to range from 3°C to 15°C.


Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric diffusion.


On the seas, wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the outer seas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
