Temporary Parking Lot Established at Yongin Sanghyeon Library... Opens on the 23rd

A temporary parking lot has been established at Yongin Sanghyeon Library in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

Gyeonggi Province, in cooperation with Yongin City and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH), created a temporary parking lot by utilizing unsold public facility land near Sanghyeon Library (Childcare Support Center) in Suji-gu, Yongin. The parking lot was opened to residents on the 23rd.

The area around Sanghyeon Library has frequently experienced double parking and illegal parking due to a shortage of parking spaces, as the number of visitors to the library and the Childcare Support Center has increased.

In response, Gyeonggi Province conducted an on-site inspection last month to confirm the local conditions, including the shortage of parking spaces. After this, the province reviewed ways to temporarily utilize the unsold public facility land together with Yongin City and GH.

During this process, several working-level meetings were held with relevant organizations, including Yongin City and GH, focusing on issues such as free use of the land, traffic flow for entry and exit, and management responsibility, in order to develop concrete plans for establishing the temporary parking lot.

The site in question is unsold land designated for cultural and welfare facilities owned by GH, with entry previously restricted to prevent illegal dumping. The three organizations systematically divided roles, quickly proceeding with negotiations for temporary land use, reviewing on-site conditions, and carrying out facility construction procedures, ultimately completing the temporary parking lot on December 20.

The opening of the temporary parking lot is expected to significantly improve parking accessibility and convenience for residents using Sanghyeon Library and the Childcare Support Center.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "Yongin City actively cooperated and relevant organizations worked closely together to achieve early results in utilizing unsold land in residential development districts, making this a leading example of effectively resolving residents' inconveniences. We will continue to actively identify and utilize unsold land in residential development districts in ways that residents can truly benefit from."
