Promoting Volunteer Cooperation for Three Years
to Solve Local Issues and Foster Mutual Growth
Companies and organizations in Daejeon have joined forces to promote mutual growth with the local community, including caring for vulnerable groups, talent donation volunteer activities, disaster recovery support, and solving local issues.
On December 22, Daejeon City signed the "2025 Volunteer Social Contribution Agreement" with 24 local companies and organizations in the main conference room at City Hall.
This agreement was hosted by Daejeon City and jointly organized by the Daejeon Volunteer Center (Chairman Koo Jaseon) and the Daejeon Volunteer Association (President Kim Youngtae), with participation from 24 companies, organizations, and groups.
The participating entities include eight public institutions (▲Daejeon Tourism Organization ▲Daejeon Transportation Corporation ▲Daejeon Metropolitan City Facilities Management Corporation ▲Korea Gas Technology Corporation ▲Korea Energy Agency Daejeon-Chungnam Regional Headquarters ▲Korea Electric Power Corporation Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Headquarters ▲Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation ▲KEPCO Nuclear Fuel), three educational institutions (▲Chungnam National University ▲Korea Baptist Theological University and Seminary ▲Korea Polytechnics IV Daejeon Campus), four financial institutions (▲NongHyup Daejeon Headquarters ▲Korea Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives ▲Jeonbuk Bank Central Business Headquarters ▲Hana Bank Chungcheong Business Group), three hospitals (▲Rich Korean Medicine Hospital ▲Baroseum Hospital ▲Phil Korean Medicine Hospital), five private companies (▲Global Systems Co., Ltd. ▲Samjin ENI Co., Ltd. ▲Seon Yang Soju Co., Ltd. ▲Youngchang Tech Co., Ltd. ▲Ibiga Food Co., Ltd.), and one private organization (Korea Chefs Association Daejeon Branch).
Through this agreement, the participating companies and organizations will work together with Daejeon City, the Daejeon Volunteer Center, and the Daejeon Volunteer Association to carry out joint cooperative projects for sharing happiness over the next three years.
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the companies, organizations, and groups that have consistently carried out social contribution projects," adding, "I hope today's agreement will serve as an opportunity to make Daejeon a warmer and better place to live."
Meanwhile, this year Daejeon City, together with the Volunteer Center, Volunteer Association, and partner companies, promoted a variety of volunteer and social contribution activities, including: sharing warmth during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays; providing side dishes for vulnerable groups; supporting and caring for victims of wildfires in Yeongnam; participating in the 80th Arbor Day tree planting; maintaining the National Cemetery; summer kimchi sharing for vulnerable groups; projects to improve citizen welfare; a thank-you concert for volunteers; and a large-scale kimchi-making volunteer event to help people stay warm in winter.
