This talk concert was conducted in a talk show format, combining questions submitted in advance via social media and online platforms with spontaneous questions from the audience. The Q&A session focused on issues directly related to residents' daily lives, such as improving transportation conditions, establishing rural and major road networks, and upgrading village living infrastructure.
In particular, regarding residents' questions about transportation, roads, and public safety, Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, "Transportation and road issues are most closely connected to citizens' daily lives, so it is the administration's responsibility to explain the structure and limitations without hiding anything." He added, "Even if an issue is difficult to resolve immediately, we will continue to review alternatives and possibilities until the end."
Regarding requests for the establishment of rural and major road networks, Mayor Bang emphasized, "Roads are more than just a means of transportation; they are the foundation for revitalizing the region." He continued, "Although there are practical constraints such as terrain and budget, we will keep various options open, including tunnel construction methods and public contributions, to find the fastest solution."
Residents who attended the event commented, "It was reassuring to ask questions about the problems we face in daily life and receive honest explanations about administrative procedures and limitations, which built trust," and "It was not a formal briefing session, but an opportunity to have real conversations."
Mayor Bang remarked, "Today marks the final session of the On-the-Go Municipal Issues Talk Concerts held by region. The feedback gathered on-site has become an important standard for reviewing overall municipal administration. We will continue to consider how to connect your valuable opinions to policies and initiatives."
Meanwhile, starting with the first session in February 2025, Gwangju City has held a total of five On-the-Go Municipal Issues Talk Concerts in a rotating regional format up to this fifth session. During this period, the city directly collected a total of 380 resident opinions, including 328 questions submitted in advance and 52 questions raised on-site. The events focused on sharing and explaining major local issues such as transportation, roads, living infrastructure, welfare, and safety directly with citizens. Gwangju City plans to continue reflecting the feedback gathered through these talk concerts in its municipal administration going forward.
