KOTRA and Korean Standards Association Join Hands to Build Integrated Overseas Certification Information Service

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korean Standards Association have joined forces to establish a service that provides integrated overseas certification information.

On December 19, KOTRA announced that it had signed a business agreement with the Korean Standards Association, an organization specializing in industrial standards and certification, to link overseas certification information and support export companies. Overseas certification is cited as one of the main challenges for export companies, alongside overseas marketing and export logistics.

Under this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in areas such as connecting overseas economic, trade, and investment information, supporting companies' overseas expansion and exports, collaborating on overseas certification, utilizing and promoting artificial intelligence-based overseas certification services, developing platform businesses, and sharing data.

Initially, KOTRA's Overseas Economic Information Dream platform will be linked with the Korean Standards Association's overseas certification information platform, enabling export companies to access both overseas certification and export/overseas expansion information in one place. More than 1,480 overseas certification resources, including item-specific certification guidebooks and government support program information from the Korean Standards Association, will be integrated, and an overseas certification integrated information service will be provided within the Overseas Economic Information Dream platform starting at the end of the year.

Based on data sharing, the two organizations also plan to pilot an artificial intelligence-based overseas certification information service integration in 2026. KOTRA will provide overseas certification information collected by its overseas trade offices, as well as overseas market news and product databases, while the Korean Standards Association will utilize this data for its AI-based overseas certification information service. The Korean Standards Association will also use KOTRA's export support agency information to assist with service planning, data verification, service development, and distribution.
