Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on the 20th that the Gangwon Council of the Korea Pork Producers Association donated a scholarship fund of 20 million won on the 19th to foster future talents in the province’s livestock sector.

Since signing a scholarship business agreement with the Gangwon Talent Institute in 2022, the provincial council has donated more than 10 million won in scholarships each year. With this latest donation, the cumulative amount has reached a total of 60 million won.


Since 2022, the council and the province have each provided 10 million won annually, totaling 20 million won, to students of universities and high schools in the province that have livestock-related departments. The cumulative number of scholarship recipients has reached 106 as of this year.


The Gangwon Talent Institute, for its part, operates various scholarship programs through donations from Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and private sponsors, and continues to expand support for the academic and career development of local talents.
