On the 19th (local time), NBC News reported that President Trump made these remarks during an exclusive phone interview with the network.

The Trump administration has declared war on Venezuelan drug cartels and continues to put pressure on ships passing through the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific Ocean. In particular, on the 16th, the administration designated the Nicolas Maduro regime in Venezuela as a foreign terrorist organization and completely blocked all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela, thereby raising the level of response.

When asked by NBC whether such pressure could lead to war, President Trump initially replied, "I will not discuss that." However, after repeated requests for a clear answer, he responded that he does not rule out the possibility, according to NBC News. He also added that there could be additional seizures of oil tankers traveling to and from Venezuela.

Additionally, when asked whether the ultimate goal was to oust the Maduro regime, President Trump replied, "What I want, he (President Maduro) knows exactly. He knows better than anyone else."
