Year-End Event Filled with Sharing and Encouragement
Awards, Charity Donations, and Special Lectures Highlight Contributions and Community Spirit
The Innopolis Venture Association (hereinafter referred to as the Venture Association) held the "2025 Daejeon Small and Venture Business Day" at Golfzon Joymaru on December 17.
The Venture Association organized this event to commend individuals who contributed to revitalizing venture startups, encourage each other's hard work throughout the year, and provide opportunities for support and networking through a special lecture by a distinguished guest.
The event was attended by over 130 people, including Lee Sangcheon, Director of the Daejeon-Sejong Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, Choi Wonhyuk, Director of Corporate Support at Daejeon City, Choi Changwoo, President of the Daejeon Job Economy Promotion Agency, as well as member companies of the Venture Association and related organizations.
At this year's awards ceremony, a total of 25 commendations and plaques were presented to individuals who contributed to the growth of venture and startup companies in the Daejeon area.
The "Minister of SMEs and Startups" commendation was awarded to Kim Jeongmi, CEO of Airis Co., Ltd.; Lee Eekyun, CEO of Wontech Co., Ltd.; Yoo Byungwan, CEO of JiranJigyo Data Co., Ltd.; Kim Kyungho, CEO of The Sentec Co., Ltd.; and Kim Seogyun, Principal Researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute. The "Daejeon Metropolitan City Mayor's Plaque of Appreciation" was given to Kim Seunghan, CEO of Samin HNT Co., Ltd., and Chae Myungsoo, CEO of Nota Co., Ltd.
The "Daejeon Metropolitan City Mayor's Commendation" went to Yuk Jihae, Principal Researcher at the Daejeon Job Economy Promotion Agency, and Kim Subin, Senior Staff at the Innopolis Venture Association. The "Daejeon-Sejong Regional Office of SMEs and Startups Director's Commendation" was awarded to Jung Hyeongeun, Team Leader at the Innopolis Venture Association.
The "Daejeon Listed Companies Council President's Commendation," part of the Venture Association's listed company network, was presented to Park Hyesung, Team Leader at Rigachem Bioscience Co., Ltd.; Kim Wonjin, Team Leader at Axvis Co., Ltd.; Lee Jeongseon, Division Director at GemVax & KAEL Co., Ltd.; and Lee Yonggon, Team Leader at the Innopolis Venture Association.
The "Daedeok Person of the Year Award," given to those who have contributed to creating and revitalizing a healthy venture business ecosystem over the past year, was awarded to Kim Eunseong, Dean of the KAIST Graduate School of Quantum Science and Technology, and Chung Taehee, Chairman of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The recipients received plaques expressing the deep gratitude of member companies.
The "Innopolis Venture Association President's Commendation" was awarded to Lee Seongwoon, CEO of Revosketch Co., Ltd.; Oh Geunyoung, CEO of Picopack Co., Ltd.; Jeong Jongsun, CEO of Syntekabio Co., Ltd.; Kim Hyungwoo, CEO of Bluetile Lab Co., Ltd.; Han Changwoo, Director of Blue Device Co., Ltd.; Kang Kidong, Director of Ilsin Autoclave Co., Ltd.; Park Hugun, Team Leader at the Innopolis Foundation; and Han Chaehyun, Principal Researcher at Daejeon Technopark.
During this year's Daejeon Small and Venture Business Day event, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Jeong Heekwon, Chairman of the Innopolis Foundation, on behalf of member companies, expressing gratitude for his efforts in strengthening the innovation capabilities of the Innopolis and promoting the commercialization of venture technologies through policy implementation and support.
The Venture Association continued its tradition from last year by collecting donations for neighbors in need together with member companies. The total amount raised, 52.5 million won, was delivered to the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea and other organizations.
The member companies that participated in the joint donation campaign were JiranJigyo Security Co., Ltd.; Nano High Tech Co., Ltd.; Global Systems Co., Ltd.; i3 Systems Co., Ltd.; Ensco Co., Ltd.; Science and Technology Analysis Center Co., Ltd.; Last Tech Co., Ltd.; Latron Co., Ltd.; FA Plus Co., Ltd.; Korea Sensor Research Institute Co., Ltd.; RaonQTech Co., Ltd.; BBC Co., Ltd.; and Airis Co., Ltd., totaling 13 companies. The participation of many companies added significance to the act of sharing love.
In addition, Korea's first profiler, Dr. Kwon Ilyong, delivered a special lecture on the theme "The Reason for Reading People's Minds." The lecture provided an opportunity to reflect on how understanding people's minds affects communication within individuals and organizations, as well as relationships between businesses and society as a whole.
The event concluded with a networking session. Participants, including member companies of the Venture Association, encouraged each other's hard work and shared their plans for the upcoming New Year, pledging a strong start together.
Jo Wonhee, President of the Venture Association, stated, "Despite the uncertainties in the domestic and global economic environment and changes in industrial structure, our small and venture business sector has achieved meaningful growth and transformation in their respective fields this year."
He added, "Looking ahead to 2026, I support the vigorous leap forward of all our member companies, based on the trust we have built so far. The Venture Association will also do its utmost to support the innovation and growth of member companies as a reliable partner."
