Actively Reflecting Residents' Voices in Inquiries
Praised for Criticizing the Government's Neglect of Public Welfare
Achieves Double Honors, Also Named "Best Member" by the Korea Voters Federation
The National Assembly Audit Is Just the Beginning
Will Continue Public Livelihood-Centered Legislative Activities to Wipe Away Citizens' Tears
Kang Myunggu, a member of the People Power Party representing Gyeongbuk Gumi City B, was honored with the "2025 National Assembly Audit Outstanding Member Award" selected by the People Power Party, marking his second consecutive year receiving this distinction.
The People Power Party selects outstanding members each year during the National Assembly audit by comprehensively evaluating the professionalism of their inquiries, the issues they raise, and the alternatives they propose.
This year, Kang Myunggu was highly praised for actively voicing the concerns of local residents during the audit by the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee, and for sharply criticizing the Yoon Suk-yeol administration for neglecting public welfare in its governance.

Assemblyman Kang actively urged the ministries to: ▲ prepare improvements to the farmland area criteria for small farmer direct payments ▲ establish measures to prevent rice kernel smut and improve rice varieties ▲ address disparities in the allocation of public seasonal workers among local agricultural cooperatives ▲ expand the distribution of safety devices and safety education to prevent agricultural machinery accidents ▲ and develop countermeasures for the floriculture industry, which is on the verge of collapse.
These inquiries on public livelihood issues were inspired by Kang's "Civil Complaints Day," which he has held 20 times, and he was commended for his belief that the problems of Gumi are directly connected to those of the entire nation, continuing to advocate for the people.
In addition, he called for effective agricultural and fisheries policies by highlighting issues such as: ▲ allegations of intervention by the Presidential Office in the appointment process of the Korea Forest Service chief ▲ the government's actions in profiting from the sale of the Sewol ferry wreckage ▲ the repatriation of Cambodian voice phishing criminals by the government ▲ the implementation of agrivoltaic projects without even conducting demand surveys among farmers ▲ and excessive costs incurred from relocating the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan.
Meanwhile, Kang Myunggu was also named the "2025 National Assembly Audit Best Member" by the Korea Voters Federation, a civic organization, achieving the rare honor of being recognized for his audit performance by both his party and civil society.
Assemblyman Kang stated, "Receiving the party's outstanding member award for the second consecutive year, as well as an award from a civic organization, makes me feel an even greater sense of responsibility."
He added, "The National Assembly audit is not the end, but the beginning. I will continue to follow up until the issues raised during the audit are actually improved and the lives of the people are even slightly better. I will not stop my 'public livelihood-centered' legislative activities that wipe away the tears of ordinary citizens."
