Inno-Biz Association Signs MOU with KOSA to Promote AI Utilization among SMEs

National Assembly Policy Meeting Held in Parallel

The Inno-Biz Association announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association (KOSA) on the 18th at the 5th Conference Room of the National Assembly Members’ Office Building. The agreement aims to promote the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to vitalize the industrial ecosystem.

The signing ceremony was attended by Democratic Party lawmakers Kim Donga and Lee Juhui, Inno-Biz Association President Jeong Gwangcheon, Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association President Cho Joonhee, and representatives from member companies of both organizations.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate on the following: ▲ promoting innovation among Inno-Biz companies based on AI and software; ▲ establishing a collaborative system for nurturing and educating AI professionals; ▲ expanding opportunities for AI proof-of-concept and testbeds; ▲ making joint policy proposals to improve AI policies for SMEs; and ▲ strengthening domestic and international technology and industry networking. They also plan to continue joint research and policy proposal activities to further expand AI adoption among SMEs.

At the preceding National Assembly policy meeting, member companies from both organizations participated to discuss practical difficulties encountered during the adoption and spread of AI among SMEs, as well as tasks related to institutional improvement.

Suggestions were made for introducing earned income tax credits for PhD-level research personnel to strengthen the AI competitiveness of regional SMEs, for developing 'AI managers' to lead internal AI transformation, and for establishing a one-stop support program that links diagnosis and proof-of-concept for corporate transformation.

Additionally, the need was raised to establish a fair task-setting and contract adjustment system for public AI and software projects, to develop guidelines for the use of external large language models (LLMs) by government and public institutions, and to reform budget and procurement systems to suit the AI era, thereby improving institutional foundations.

President Jeong Gwangcheon stated, "The Association will continue to serve as a bridge between the National Assembly and the government to create an AI utilization environment that Inno-Biz companies can truly experience, and to drive improvements in related systems."
