Exhibition and Presentation of Community Revitalization Achievements Based on Resident Participation
Ultimately, it was 'people' who dispelled the shadows of population decline and aging.
The Uljin-gun Rural New Vitality Plus Project Team, led by Director Lee Myungik, will host the 2025 Uljin-Style Village Development Achievement Sharing Event, titled 'Village Light, Captured in Paintings,' to share the achievements of the Uljin-Style Village Development project carried out over the past year and to widely publicize the results of resident community activities.
This achievement sharing event will be held over four days from December 18 to 21 at the Uljin Yeonho Cultural Center, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 2:00 PM on December 19.
During the event, there will be performances by resident clubs formed and operated through the Uljin-Style Village Development project, as well as exhibitions of paintings and creative works completed by residents themselves. In addition, a docent program will be available to help visitors better understand the exhibits.
In particular, this achievement sharing event is expected to serve as a meaningful venue where participants can see at a glance both the process and results of community activities led by residents, with the various 'lights' that have blossomed within the villages coming together like a single painting.
An official from Uljin-gun stated, "We hope this achievement sharing event will serve as a valuable opportunity to highlight the value of resident community activities and to share the achievements of Uljin-Style Village Development with all county residents. We ask for the interest and participation of many residents."
The Uljin-Style Village Development project is a resident-led community capacity-building initiative operated through step-by-step programs, with resident joint learning sessions at its core. Residents actively participate in discovering village resources, creating resource maps, exploring ways to utilize these resources, and establishing village development and implementation plans, thereby revitalizing village communities. To date, a total of 20 villages have completed the first-stage program, laying the foundation for Uljin-Style Village Development.
