Shinhan Bank Extends SOL Travel Check Card Exchange Rate Benefits and Special Interest Rates Through Next Year

Shinhan Bank announced on December 18 that it will extend the preferential exchange rate benefits for the 'SOL Travel Check Card' and the special interest rate event for foreign currency deposits until the end of next year.

The 'Shinhan SOL Travel Check Card' has seen a significant increase in customer usage since its launch in February last year. To date, more than 2.7 million cards have been issued, and the cumulative domestic and overseas transaction volume has surpassed 5 trillion won, demonstrating continued growth.

As a token of appreciation for customer support, Shinhan Bank will maintain the existing 100% preferential exchange rate benefit for 42 global currencies until the end of next year. In addition, the special interest rate benefit for USD and EUR currencies for SOL Travel foreign currency deposit customers will also be extended until the end of next year. As of this date, the applicable interest rates are ▲USD (annual 1.5%) ▲EUR (annual 0.75%), and these rates may change depending on market conditions.

Shinhan Bank has improved service quality by implementing a dedicated SOL Travel interface as a native app to enhance speed and convenience, and by establishing a 24/7 overseas usage process that allows payments even during exchange rate announcements.

Meanwhile, the 'Shinhan SOL Travel Check Card' offers a range of benefits, including ▲100% preferential exchange rates for 42 global currencies ▲waived overseas payment and ATM withdrawal fees ▲5% discount at the four major convenience store chains in Korea ▲free airport lounge access (once per half-year) ▲and Mastercard Travel Rewards service (up to 10% cashback at over 400 merchants in 25 countries).
