Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province has been awarded the highest "A" grade in the city category of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Outstanding Local Government Evaluation for Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Execution." This achievement places Bucheon in the top 20% nationwide and has secured a special grant of 200 million won.
This evaluation comprehensively analyzed 243 local governments across the country, reviewing their performance in consumption coupon execution, expansion of usage locations, convenience of application and payment, promotional achievements, and best practices.
Bucheon City received high marks for its detailed guidance and tailored service connections for vulnerable groups. The city guided non-applicants through the "Onmaeum AI Welfare Call" and, in collaboration with hospitals, nursing facilities, and post offices, provided a visiting application service for citizens with mobility difficulties.
Additionally, Bucheon City installed pop-up counters at multi-use facilities such as Maru Square at Bucheon Station to improve accessibility, and linked welfare services for homeless individuals to support both the livelihood recovery consumption coupon and self-reliance initiatives.
A Bucheon City official stated, "Our efforts to reach citizens through various methods, such as visiting applications, AI welfare calls, and welfare mail registration, were recognized with this positive evaluation," adding, "The secured special grant will be used carefully for livelihood recovery and to address local issues."
