Kim Seongeun, CEO of Deokjin General Construction, Elected as 14th President of Korea Housing Builders Association

The Korea Housing Builders Association announced on December 18 that Kim Seongeun, CEO of Deokjin General Construction, was elected as the 14th president of the central association at the 36th regular general meeting held that day.

Kim, the newly appointed president, is a native of Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, and has been leading his current company since 1999. From 2019 to this year, he served as the president of the Ulsan-Gyeongnam branch of the association (10th and 11th terms). He ran unopposed in this election for the new central president and was elected without a vote. His term will last for three years, starting January 1 of next year.

He stated, "As the prolonged downturn in the real economy continues, the housing market has contracted, and the business environment for mid-sized and small housing construction companies is worsening. I feel a heavy sense of responsibility taking on this important role during such a difficult time." He added, "Based on my experience as an association executive, I will help member companies wisely overcome the current crisis and contribute to improving the public's housing standards and advancing the housing industry."

At the general meeting held at the FKI Tower in Yeouido that day, about 200 delegates attended on behalf of member companies to elect the new president and other executives. Next year's business plan and budget were also approved.
