Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 18 that it will be recruiting residents for the 'Pyeongtaek City Scholarship Dormitory', which is operated in Suyu-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, from January 1 to 13 next year.

The Pyeongtaek City Scholarship Dormitory, which opened in March 2018, is operated to ease the financial burden on parents and allow students to focus on their studies without worrying about accommodation and meals.


Eligibility is limited to students who are either planning to enroll in or are currently attending a two-year or four-year university in Seoul. As of the announcement date, the applicant or their guardian must have maintained resident registration in Pyeongtaek City for at least one year. A total of 150 residents will be selected, and up to 30% of the available spots will be prioritized for socially disadvantaged applicants.


The dormitory is conveniently located within a 5 to 10 minute walk from Suyu Station on Seoul Subway Line 4 and Hwagye Station on the light rail, making commuting by public transportation easy.
