Notably, the first sale ceremony was held alongside an export strawberry shipping event and the signing of a mutual cooperation agreement on export business between Sacheon City and Gyeongnam Trading. This meaningful occasion signaled the expansion of Sacheon strawberries into overseas markets. Through this agreement, Sacheon City and Gyeongnam Trading committed to working together to secure a stable supply of export strawberries, develop new overseas sales channels, and strengthen export competitiveness.
Sacheon strawberries are shipped under the "Masittura" brand, the joint premium agricultural brand of Sacheon City. They are renowned for their excellent balance of sweetness and tartness, high sugar content, and fresh, rich flavor, making them a signature product of the region. Thanks to this outstanding quality, they continue to receive strong support from consumers.
Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "I am grateful for the dedication of the farmers who persevered despite unprecedented heatwaves and floods this year. With this first export shipment and the signing of the MOU, we will continue to provide support so that Gonmyeong strawberries can establish themselves as a leading agricultural product of Sacheon City on the global stage."
Going forward, Sacheon City plans to further strengthen the quality competitiveness of Sacheon strawberries through a variety of projects and educational initiatives. These include support for essential resources such as pollination bees and soil substrates, pest and disease control agents, high-quality mother plants, and modernization of cultivation facilities.
The quality and popularity of Sacheon strawberries have already been proven in both domestic and international markets. With this first shipment, it is hoped that Sacheon strawberries will continue to deliver fresh happiness to consumers’ tables in 2026 as well.
