Jointly Built with Geumjeong District
Achieves 1+++ Energy Efficiency Rating in Non-residential Sector
Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) announced on December 18 that the Geumsa Eoullim Center, jointly developed by the corporation and Geumjeong District, has received official certification for Green Building (General Grade) and Energy Efficiency Ratings (Residential 1++, Non-residential 1+++).
The Geumsa Eoullim Center serves as a key anchor facility for the "Youth and Familiar Village, Busan Geumsa" Urban Regeneration New Deal Project. It is a mixed-use building that combines 42 units of Happy Housing with various public service facilities, including a small library, Cafe Masil, Geumsa Ai Dream Yard, fitness room, and an administrative complex center.
With residential, administrative, welfare, and cultural functions all in one place, the center plays a vital role in enhancing the convenience of daily life for local residents.
Busan Urban Corporation has implemented an energy management system-including solar panels, double-glazed windows, and high-efficiency certified LED lighting-to reduce housing costs for Happy Housing residents and improve the energy efficiency of public facilities. These measures have reduced energy consumption and strengthened the building's eco-friendly performance.
As a result of these efforts, the Geumsa Eoullim Center obtained the Green Building General Grade under the "Act on the Promotion of Green Buildings" and the Energy Efficiency Rating under the "Regulations on Certification of Building Energy Efficiency and Zero Energy Buildings." In particular, in the non-residential sector, the center's rating improved from the preliminary 1++ grade to the official 1+++ grade, officially recognizing its enhanced energy performance.
The Geumsa Eoullim Center is also set to receive official certification as a Zero Energy Building and is expected to operate as a leading eco-friendly public anchor facility in the region.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "The Geumsa Eoullim Center has been developed as a space that encompasses residential, administrative, welfare, and cultural functions, applying a variety of eco-friendly technologies to improve energy efficiency. We will continue to expand eco-friendly public buildings that citizens can truly experience."
