More than 30 people attended the event, including the mayor, vice mayor, Director of the Administrative Safety Bureau, heads of local civil affairs and autonomous administration from each district, and relevant department heads.
The attendees focused on proposals for creating a safer and more pleasant urban environment, such as improving traffic safety at the intersection in front of Jangam-dong Jugong 1 Complex, measures to prevent child pedestrian accidents in Songsan 2-dong, and enhancing the safety of the pedestrian bridge in Nokyang-dong Humansia.
They also discussed ways to improve and create parks and rest areas that residents can directly benefit from, such as increasing the utilization of the Uijeongbu 1-dong Sports Park and improving lighting along the walking trail at Haengbok Nuri Park in Ganeung-dong.
In addition to neighborhood issues, attendees shared requests for cooperation on major city projects. The Welfare Policy Division introduced the '2025 Uijeongbu City Neighborly Love Sharing Challenge,' while the Autonomous Administration Division requested guidance and cooperation for the '2026 Uijeongbu Sunrise Walk: From the Riverside Path to Saebit.'
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "The Neighborhood Leader Tea Time serves as a platform for collaboration and communication, where the on-site opinions of neighborhood leaders, who are closest to the residents' concerns, can be immediately reflected in city administration. Through the operation of Tea Time, we will further strengthen on-site, resident-centered administration that people can truly feel."
