In Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, a wave of year-end giving from major corporations and sports stars continues.
According to the office of Representative Jiwon Park of the Democratic Party of Korea on the 17th, Samsung, LG, and golf star Kim Seyoung have donated a total of 240 million KRW worth of contributions to welfare facilities in the Haenam region.

On December 12, Samsung donated three vehicles, worth approximately 100 million KRW, to three welfare facilities in Haenam County through the Community Chest of Korea. The beneficiary organizations are Haenam YMCA Together Care Center, Haenam Senior Nursing Center, and Haenam County Welfare Center for the Disabled. The vehicles will be used to provide services for seniors, people with disabilities, and children with mobility challenges.
Additionally, after winning the '2024 BMW Ladies Championship' held at Haenam Pine Beach Golf Links in October, Kim Seyoung donated 30 million KRW to four organizations for people with disabilities in Haenam. Kim donated her entire appearance fee of 15 million KRW from a broadcast shoot, and BMW’s official dealer, Deutsche Motors, matched the amount, delivering a total of 30 million KRW to people with disabilities in the region.
On December 19, LG, in cooperation with the organization “People Sharing Hope” and the Foundation for Cooperation among Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and Agriculture and Fisheries, plans to donate daily necessities worth 100 million KRW-including shampoo, conditioner, fabric softener, toothpaste, dishwashing detergent, and toothbrushes-to 33 social welfare facilities across 14 towns and villages in Haenam County. This marks LG’s second consecutive year supporting welfare facilities in Haenam, and the donations are expected to provide significant help to local residents.
Representative Jiwon Park stated, “I would like to thank Kim Seyoung, Samsung, LG, Deutsche Motors, and the officials from welfare fundraising organizations for donating Christmas gifts and funds of love to Haenam. I will continue to do my best to ensure that more support is provided to welfare facilities for people with disabilities, seniors, women, youth, and multicultural families.”
Meanwhile, Haenam County has achieved a series of successes this year, including being selected for national public projects, securing government funding, and attracting investments from major corporations. The year-end welfare donations have further contributed to a warm and positive atmosphere in the local community.
