Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghoon) announced on December 17 that it will offer a wide range of fur outerwear products this winter, highlighting their wild and unique appeal.

Interest from customers has been rising as popular idol group members, including those from the All Day Project, have showcased styles incorporating fur in their daily lives.
According to the online fashion platform SSF Shop, as of last month, searches for fur-related keywords increased by more than 80% compared to the same period last year. This heightened interest is also evident in offline stores.
On the 5th floor of the main building at Gwangju Shinsegae, the brand Martine Kim has already sold out most of its fur outerwear stocked this year. In particular, the neck buckle pro-fur jumper, which is especially popular in the Seoul metropolitan area, has sold out at most of the 16 Martine Kim stores nationwide, with only a small quantity remaining in Gwangju.
At Rave, also located on the same floor, there has been a steady stream of customers seeking fur outerwear. While handmade, understated outerwear was popular until last year, this year has seen a growing proportion of customers looking for outerwear with a rugged feel using fur. Among these, Rave's toggle fur jacket has been receiving a particularly positive response.
In the past, customers seeking fur outerwear tended to be in higher age groups. However, this year, there has been a significant increase in younger customers, especially Millennials & Gen Z in their 20s and 30s. This trend is attributed to the emergence of eco-fur products made from synthetic materials, which offer affordable prices, as well as the introduction of products featuring fur in a variety of vibrant colors.
The most popular fur outerwear at Junji, located on the 4th floor of Gwangju Shinsegae, is also made from eco-fur material. This makes it relatively more affordable compared to similar real fur outerwear. The Junji eco-fur cropped hoodie vest, in particular, is popular for its reasonable price and versatility in styling.
Kim Yooncheol, Head of the Fashion Team at Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "As the weather gets colder, fur outerwear that offers warmth and can be styled in various ways is gaining attention. In addition to Martine Kim and Rave, many other brands are featuring this year's trending fur outerwear, so we hope to welcome many customers looking for the latest styles."
