Revealed Through Defense Media Agency’s YouTube Channel
Received U.S. Marine Corps General’s Award at Graduation Ceremony
The public release of Park Sehyun (20), the eldest son of Park Jiman, Chairman of EG, and the eldest grandson of former President Park Chunghee, completing the basic military training for the 1,323rd class of the Marine Corps, has become a topic of discussion.
According to the Marine Corps Veterans Association and other sources on December 16, Sehyun is the first of four sons born to Park Jiman, Chairman of EG and son of former President Park Chunghee, and Seo Hyanghee. He is also the nephew of former President Park Geunhye.

On December 4, the Defense Media Agency’s YouTube channel posted footage of the new recruits’ graduation ceremony held at the Pohang Education and Training Center, attended by Sehyun’s father, Chairman Park, his mother, Ms. Seo, and others.
The released video shows Sehyun saluting and stating his name and rank in front of Chairman Park. Sehyun appeared emotional, and after completing the salute, he embraced his parents. In another scene, Sehyun, Chairman Park, and Ms. Seo are seen smiling broadly as they take a commemorative photo together. At the ceremony, Sehyun received the U.S. Marine Corps General’s Award.
It is known that Sehyun’s decision to join the Marine Corps was strongly motivated by his own will. His grandfather, former President Park Chunghee, retired as an Army general in 1963. His father, Chairman Park Jiman, graduated from the 37th class of the Korea Military Academy and was discharged as a captain in 1986.
This is the first time Sehyun has been seen in public as an adult. After studying in the United States, Sehyun enlisted in the Marine Corps on October 27. If he completes his military service without incident, he is scheduled to be discharged in April 2027.
