Housing Supply, Resolution of Unsold Units, and Apartment Management
Changwon Special City was selected as the top city (No. 1 in the province) in the "2025 Housing Policy Implementation Excellence Evaluation for Cities and Counties" conducted by Gyeongsangnam-do.
This evaluation was the first to be conducted since the establishment of the Housing Division in Gyeongsangnam-do and aimed to improve residents' living environments and promote housing policy initiatives. Cities and counties were selected based on a comprehensive assessment of various criteria, including housing supply performance, resolution of unsold housing, and implementation of housing welfare projects.
Changwon Special City demonstrated outstanding results across all aspects of housing policy, including ▲improvement in the housing supply rate ▲expansion of public rental housing supply ▲strengthened management of unsold housing ▲inspection of local housing association redevelopment projects, and management of apartment construction sites.
In particular, Changwon's unique efforts received high marks, such as supporting timely occupancy inspections for apartment complexes, establishing relocation measures for residents of the disaster-prone Bongam Apartment Complex, actively resolving various civil complaints, and conducting an independent survey on youth housing conditions.
Changwon Special City plans to continue pursuing balanced housing administration policies involving both the public and private sectors to enhance citizens' quality of life and build a stable residential foundation.
Lee Jaekwang, Director of Urban Policy, stated, "I am pleased that our diverse policies for residential stability have led to such positive results in this evaluation," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to implement policies that make Changwon a livable city for everyone and create a sustainable residential environment."
