The Excellent Book Review Contest is a program in which students read recommended books and write reviews. Since 2017, it has been held annually for enrolled students with the goal of enhancing creative abilities by identifying key points in the book, reading critically, summarizing content, and comparing their thoughts with those of the author.

Outstanding User award recipients are selected based on their library usage records (mileage) over the past year. The evaluation comprehensively reflects various aspects of library service usage, including borrowing and returning books, using electronic resources, participating in library events, as well as library entry and use of the library website.

At this awards ceremony, Han Subin (School of Medicine) won the grand prize in the "Excellent Book Review Contest" category for a review titled "I Did Not Reconcile With Life, But Had to Live Again" after reading Han Kang's book "I Do Not Bid Farewell." In the "Outstanding User" category, Kim Taehun (Department of Chemistry) received the grand prize for achieving the highest mileage through book loans and use of various library services (such as entry and electronic resources). In total, 22 students received awards.

Joo Youngki, Director of the Hallym University Knowledge Media Convergence Center, stated, "The Excellent Book Review Contest and Outstanding User awards are not just about announcing results, but are opportunities to share the process through which students have thought, questioned, and grown through books." He added, "We will continue to expand various reading-based extracurricular programs to further enhance students' creative thinking and expressive abilities."

Meanwhile, the Hallym University Knowledge Media Convergence Center, supported by the University Innovation Support Project Group, operates a variety of programs to foster a reading culture, improve reading habits, and promote active library use among students. These efforts have resulted in high levels of satisfaction among enrolled students.
