"Verifying the Facts...
No Further Statements After This Video"
Comedian Park Narae has personally announced her decision to suspend all broadcast activities in response to various allegations that have recently emerged.
On December 16, through a video released on the YouTube channel "Baek Eunyoung's Golden Time," Park stated, "I take seriously the concern and fatigue I have caused many people due to the recent issues raised," adding, "I have voluntarily withdrawn from all programs in which I was appearing." She further explained, "This decision was made out of a desire to prevent any further confusion or burden for the production teams and my colleagues."
She addressed the current allegations by saying, "There are aspects that require a calm verification of the facts, so legal procedures are underway," and added, "I will not make any additional public statements or explanations during this process." She also emphasized, "This matter is not an issue of personal feelings or relationships, but one that must be objectively verified through official procedures," and said, "This is not about blaming or holding anyone accountable, but a choice to leave the matter to due process, excluding emotion and personal judgment."
Park Narae stated, "Although there are many stories circulating at the moment, I do not want anyone else to be hurt or for unnecessary controversy to arise," and declared, "For the time being, I will halt all activities and focus on resolving this matter." She continued, "For issues that require time, I will proceed calmly according to procedure," and said, "After this video, I will not make any further statements on the matter."
Previously, Park Narae’s former managers, referred to as A and B, filed for a provisional seizure of her real estate and announced their intention to claim damages. They alleged that Park Narae had engaged in illegal acts such as causing bodily harm, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, proxy prescriptions, delayed payment of personal expenses, and private use of company funds.
In response, Park Narae’s side refuted these claims on December 5, stating that the former managers had demanded an additional amount corresponding to a certain percentage of company revenue after receiving their severance pay, and that the requested amount had grown to several hundred million won. Park Narae’s side filed a criminal complaint against them for blackmail.
Subsequently, A and B also filed criminal complaints against Park Narae for causing bodily harm, defamation by spreading false information, and violating the Information and Communications Network Act, and additionally accused her of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes in relation to the use of company funds.
Separately, reports emerged that Park Narae had received an IV injection from a person referred to as the "injection aunt," raising suspicions of illegal medical practice. In response, Park Narae’s side explained that they understood this person to be a licensed medical professional.
As criminal complaints and accusations continued, the two sides met face-to-face in the early morning of December 8, but were unable to narrow their differences. On the same day, Park Narae stated on social media, "Misunderstandings and distrust have been resolved," but also announced, "I will suspend all broadcast activities until everything is settled." The former managers’ side countered that there had been no agreement or apology.
In the video released on this day, Park Narae once again reaffirmed her decision to suspend activities, saying, "I will take time to reflect on my responsibility and attitude."
