Doosan Enerbility, headquartered in Changwon, Gyeongnam Province, has secured an order worth 130 billion KRW for major equipment for a gas combined cycle power plant in Qatar.
Doosan Enerbility announced on the 15th that it has signed a contract with Samsung C&T for the supply of major equipment for the “Qatar Facility E Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant.”
Under this agreement, Doosan Enerbility will supply two 430MW-class steam turbines, two generators, and auxiliary equipment for a large-scale gas combined cycle power plant with a total capacity of 2,400MW, which will be built about 10 kilometers southeast of Doha, the capital of Qatar, by 2029.
This achievement marks the company’s second order in Qatar this year, following its 290 billion KRW “peaking unit” project win in March.
Doosan Enerbility is also expanding its track record in supplying steam turbines and generators in major Middle Eastern markets this year, having signed consecutive supply contracts totaling 340 billion KRW for two gas combined cycle power plant projects in Saudi Arabia-Ghazlan 2 Expansion and Hajar Expansion.
Son Seungwoo, Head of Power Service BG, stated, “With consecutive orders in Qatar and the expansion of supply contracts across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, we are solidifying our position in the global gas combined cycle power plant market. Based on trust in our products, we will further strengthen our competitiveness by providing solutions optimized to customer needs.”
