"Strawberry Prices Drop, But Shilla Hotel Raises Them? Shilla Seoul Strawberry Bingsu Surpasses 100,000 Won" Shilla Hotel Strawberry Bingsu

The price of the Shilla Hotel Strawberry Bingsu at the Shilla Seoul, operated by Hotel Shilla, has surpassed 100,000 won.

According to the hotel industry on December 15, Shilla Hotel announced on its website that from December 16, 2025, to March 7, 2026, the Strawberry Bingsu will be sold for 102,000 won at The Library on the first floor of the Shilla Seoul. This represents a 4% increase from last year's price of 98,000 won.

According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), the retail price of strawberries as of December 12 was 2,420 won per 100 grams for the standard grade, down 10% from a year ago. However, Shilla Hotel raised the price of its bingsu despite the decrease in ingredient costs.

Shilla Hotel recently attracted attention by launching a premium cake priced at 500,000 won this month, positioning itself as a leader in the luxury dessert market. However, it also faced criticism for driving up prices. Further controversy arose after issues were raised regarding cracks on the cake's surface and the color of its decorations.

Meanwhile, the price of another signature item, the Mango Bingsu at the Shilla Seoul, is 110,000 won. This also marks a 7.8% increase from last year.
