The webtoon begins with the birth of Mongle and scenes of his mother's daily tears. It also depicts his father's infidelity and the collapse of the family, as well as the period after his maternal grandfather's death when his mother was consecutively diagnosed with breast cancer, thyroid cancer, and cervical cancer. Later, he confesses that witnessing his father's remarriage in the United States made his world collapse, and that during his subsequent studies abroad, he suffered bullying and violence due to language and cultural differences.
